Welcome.
Below are this week’s eight questions. They are not particularly hard, but a few of them are a bit tricky and a few of them require a more specific answer than you might initially think. If you find any of these questions annoying, frustrating, or even boring please keep in mind that I discovered this a few days ago but have decided not to use the information it provides as the basis for a future challenge. Unless, that is, I feel as though you need to be punished. In that case, all bets are off. Finally, if at any point this week you’re wondering if you should attempt the challenge please remember, you could be working.
1. What unique feat did KAA Gent’s Eric Viscaal complete during a match in the 1993-1994 Belgian season?
2. Following England’s 1966 World Cup victory the Jules Rimet trophy was stolen- who recovered it?
3. Why did German footballer Hansi Müller (a star for both Stuttgart and West Germany) intentionally badger a referee into giving him a red card?
4. Who were the only two players to appear in the World Cup before and after World War II?
5. What is the connection between football and the invention of the windshield wiper?
6. What is an Acme Thunderer?
7. What is the only Premier League club to be founded by a woman? Who was she?
8. What unique goal scoring feat took place in a 1953 Scottish Cup match between Celtic and Falkirk?
As always, please do not put any spoilers in the comments section and remember to submit your answers to avoidingthedrop@gmail.com by midnight (EST!) next Tuesday.
Good luck!

Those looking for #1 would do well to know a little about Belgium’s cultural dichotomy, especially in language. At least that’s how I found it.
