Municipal beat Columbus 2 – 1. The first goal was a beauty.
6 of the 21 goals scored yesterday were from penalties, and 4 from 21 yesterday. I don’t know the record for highest percentage of penalties scored in any given round, but 10/42 is 23%, and that seems pretty high.
I liked Wimbledon (now MK Dons). I was mad when they left for Keynes. I started following AFC Wimbledon when they were founded. I really, really hope they make the league. I think that club have a bright future.
On the other end of the spectrum, Sheffield Wednesday. The sad thing is that you get the feeling, this being the 3rd wind-up, that the end is coming soon. The sad thing with football is that this is going to be the rule upcoming. We’re only going to see more of this as the years roll by. The leagues are going to have to institute some financial controls to make this issue go away and given the money they make out of all of it, I’m sure the hesitance is there.
I’d like a bottle of whatever Cahill had with dinner. It must have been strong.
That whole Wimbledon/MK Dons thing always makes me think of the Browns/Ravens situation and just pisses me off.
