My final word on yesterday’s Liverpool match: If that isn’t rock bottom for them, I don’t know what is. The next 3 matches will be crucial for that side. If they come out angry and lay the wood to the opposition or at least fight like hell, I’ll believe they can salvage this campaign. If they come out flat and keep sputtering, it’ll be the theme of the year. They need someone to serve as a sparkplug and light things up and Steven Gerrard it won’t be, so I’m not sure who the hell it will be.
Fergie went to Spain to avoid the BBC and having to pay a fine for missing a post match interview. That’s my story, anyway. Make your own up, but it comes down to the same: No one but the minnows give a shit about the Carling.
Honestly, I’m not really sure that this IS rock bottom; not because it isn’t bad, but because I’m not convinced that things can’t get worse than losing in the League Cup. All told, this isn’t really the end of the world; things can get a lot worse than this.
Is the Carling all, no. Is it an aberration/fluke or a trend in result? Seems like the latter.
I agree, but the fact that it’s a trend makes me think that there may be far worse results coming. So, while bad, this can’t be rock bottom because it leaves no room to plummet…and I think we’ve still got some plummeting to do.
RSL and Seattle are doing quite well in the CCL Group stages.
You mean RSL and Columbus?
Of course. I had Seattle on the brain after reading the above.
My Fire allegiance makes it very hard to root for the Crew, but I would like MLS to do well.
