Stevie Coppell to Aston Villa then?
Certainly fits the quit quickly archetype, now doesn’t he? Given that David James came strictly on Coppell, I wonder if he’ll have a sour season now. The first game surely doesn’t bode well.
I hope Villa go for an unknown, like Bradley. I’m really tired of seeing the same faces rumble through sides with the same result.
I’m not sure how Bellamy would fit at Celtic. It feels like we’ve acquired a ton of faces and are going plug and pray into the lineup to see what works. Still, Keane worked out so maybe Bellamy would as well. There’s news out this morning that Rangers want to just straight transfer him in…where the hell the money came from for that, anyone knows. If they were going to do that, why not resign the cast that won last year’s title?
Another news item: Leicester City are now Thai owned, but Mandaric remains as chair. I’d like to see City back in the prem, so we’ll see what comes of this.
It would be disappointing for him to “retire from management” and take an improved position a few days later.
I’m guessing that SGE will be knocking down as many doors as he can to get the Villa job…
I don’t know what to make of the Poulsen deal. I liked him when he was with Sevilla. He was a beast back then but now Juventus have sold him for about half of what they paid Sevilla. Has he regressed or was his contract running out? Any body follow Serie A?
I think he’s regressed a bit; he’s known mostly for his accumulation of cards. I’ve read some analysis, however, that says he’s actually a better “fit” than Gerrard; he can play a bit further up, and offers more of an attacking threat, while still retaining a defensive mindset. Mascherano’s main “offensive” ability usually involves him taking ridiculous shots over the bar from midfield; Poulsen should do better in that regard.
However, there’s still no second striker; I wonder if Hodgson sees something in Babel and/or Kuyt that makes him think they can fill in?
A. Nobody ever accused Steven Gerrard of being an intellectual.
B. Celtic need to leave Bellamy alone, I want him to be the Revs first designated player!
You really want Bellamy in Boston? The odds of him getting in a row with someone and getting arrested would be REALLY high. Of course, I’m not sure Glasgow would be much better. He doesn’t seem like the type to take a joke well.
The high odds of him getting into a row at Boston are exactly why I would like to see him go there; Fuse probably has a different take on it, though.
Interesting. Been trying to learn a different language for a while now so this is highly relevant! Thanks.
