Welcome to our place for the evening. We’re a bit giddy in anticipation of the greatest sporting event of the year, but until then there are a few other things to watch. Tonight sees the Blackhawks attempt to win their first Stanley Cup in better than 30 years while the Flyers attempt to thwart them and clinch the all-time Comeback Kids Award as well. Also tonight, the Los Galaxy hope to continue their undefeated season against last year’s champs, Real Salt Lake. Baseball’s Stephen Strasburg debut has come/gone and games continue this evening all around the American and National Leagues. Division I sporting conferences are in flux as the NCAA begins to fall apart.
Even Ronaldo will NEVER look this good taking a free kick.
And for some comic relief, Tiger Woods and EA sports have teamed up for a curling video (of sorts…)

Haven’t been swimming in the intertubes much recently. Apparently things are getting weird in NCAA football. I haven’t been following it much but… Wouldn’t adding more teams to the Big 10 just divide the existing money by more teams – not making that much more profit than staying in the Big XII?
I think that once there are four super groups, the NCAA (and hopefully the BCS) will become irrelevant. Each conference will make their own TV deals (for more $$) and there will probably be some kind of playoff system. I will be more interested to see how the conferences affect March Madness…
Um…It’s estimated that Big Ten schools got close to $20m from TV last year. Big XII schools were getting maybe half that, and Nebraska’s got a huge following. It’ll add to the pool.

I honestly don’t see Notre Dame going anywhere, they got way too sweet a deal as it is.
Notre Dame only gets $9m per year from their TV deal. How is that sweet in today’s landscape? Oh, and NBC is in full-on cost cutting mode. They may not get another contract with the peacock.
But they don’t, really. They make less $$ than Indiana & Purdue. With the big conferences, they’ll get a tougher time making their “national” schedule. Their other athletic teams will lose out next, b/c the Big East will be the next conference canibalised.
Notre Dame has two options, join a conference, or get left behind. I *KNOW* what the AD wants to do, I’m not sure if the priests in charge know what to do.

No, all that was in the glove compartment, I’m quite certain. I finally just added the original amt. financed, the down payment and the trade-in, and informed the adjustor of my logic via email.
Moral of the story: don’t let anyone touch your fucking car, ever. Sleep in it if necessary, and carry a pump-action shotgun on you just in case.
actually, moral of the story is to not keep anything in the glove box. not even the registration. I keep that in my wallet, along with my proof on insurance. at least that way if someone breaks into it, or steals it, they’ve got nothing that will lead them to my home, or get them out of a run in with a cop.
