It would appear that many of our readers are now getting a vibe for the teams of Major League Soccer. Last week Ryan was almost perfect with seven out of eight picks correct. Epiblast was good for six correct picks and more than a half-dozen of you got five out of the eight correct. There were a few regulars who missed week four. Hopefully they will return and even bring some friends! How did you do? Read on after the break and find out.

THIS WEEK:
Games begin on Thursday night and end on Sunday afternoon. All times are Eastern and channels listed are courtesy of MLSsoccer.com.
Seattle @ Dallas – Thursday 8:00pm (ESPN2/ESPN Deportes)
Philadelphia @ New York – Saturday 4:00pm (Telefutura)
Colorado @ New England – Saturday 7:30pm (MLS Direct Kick)
Salt Lake @ Columbus – Saturday 7:30pm (MLS Direct Kick)
Los Angeles @ Kansas City – Saturday 8:30pm (MLS Direct Kick)
Houston @ Chicago – Saturday 8:30pm (MLS Direct Kick)
San Jose @ ChivasUSA – Saturday 10:30pm (FSC/FSE)
Seattle @ Toronto – Sunday 2:00pm (MLS Direct Kick)
That’s right, Seattle gets to play twice this week and both those games are on the road. Win, lose or draw? You pick’em. In the comments.

Not only that, but Seattle’s games aren’t even close to each other. I’d understand doing Dallas and Houston, or LA and Chivas, or even NY and DC or Philly all back-to-back. But Dallas and Toronto? That’s stupid.

OK…so does anyone on the East Coast actually stay up until midnight to watch these late night Saturday games?
Ummm…maybe.
I am not criticizing those who do.
I just wondered why MLS’s nationally televised “Game of the Week” would start/end so late for better than half their viewing audience. Here on the West coast, I can watch the entire game and still go out bowling or catch a late movie.
In terms of getting your game in front of the most eyes, wouldn’t you want it to start somewhat earlier?
It’d be nice if they started earlier, but then there’s not fuck-all on the telly on Saturday night, so I’m happy enough to be one of those who stays up and watches.
I have in the past, but I won’t for this one. I’m a snob; it’s gotta involve Columbus, Seattle, or L.A. (or sometimes New England, if they’re doing well) for me to start getting interested in it, then there’s gotta be nothing else going on that would interfere.
And also, I have to remember that the game is on, which is usually the stumbling block I run into.
