There’s a program called ProZone that measures that sort of thing, and apparently part of the software actually keeps track of how far they run as part of their training regimen.
So it’s accurate.

Nani will only fly 7.65 km if fired from a cannon, so it’s a reference to the distance he’s run during the match.

Wrong. Away goals matter. If it’s 1-1, Barca goes through without extra time by virtue of one more away goal. If it’s 2-2, it goes to extra time.
The good news for Arsenal is that if they win the match outright, they go through. That last goal was HUGE. It’s aggregate but the away goals count majorly to figure it all out.
Right, that’s what I meant. Arsenal could win 1-0 and since it was an outright win, they go through. it was the commentators after the game who made me start doubting my sanity. It’s actually one of UEFA’s own stats. Some of those (passing accuracy for anyone not a centerback, for instance) are interesting, but the distance covered is pretty worthless. Running all day with no end product (i.e., Carlos Tevez every year but this one) never really made sense to me.

@Green Eggs – Is it just me, or have all the Pride guys really looked bad once they get to UFC? Or at least, not been nearly as dominant?
It’s not just you. The only one who has been as, if not more dominant is Rampage; Hendo had many good moments in UFC as well, of course.
What about Shogun (just looked him up)? And while Hendo’s had good moments, he lost both title shots (one to a former Pride guy in Rampage) and one to Spider.
Also, Fedor was a Pride guy, right?
Fedor hasn’t been in UFC, so I didn’t count him…
Shogun got beat by Forrest Griffin and Lyoto Machida, even though I think he beat Machida in that fight…so I guess that takes him down a notch in my eyes.
Akiyama has been decent in UFC, as has Wanderlei, Heath Herring, et al. But not at the same level as Rampage and Hendo, I feel.

I guess it’s that none of the Pride guys have taken and held a title for long. HW and LHW belt have moved plenty, but other than that, it’s still BJ/GSP/Spider and looks to stay that way for the foreseeable future.
Yep, the Japanese fighters who have made the leap to UFC from Pride have been, so far, extremely disappointing. I expected much better from Gomi tonight, but he looked slow, fatigued, and out-matched in every way.

I like Florian’s game, but BJ is just a monster at 155. I don’t even remember the last fighter who beat him whose initials weren’t GSP.
Faber, I want to like him, but his style is a bit too unconventional for my tastes. Two bad losses for Miggy Torres is a damn shame; he’s one of the most talented all-around fighters I’ve seen in the WEC. Aldo/Faber will be a fun fight though; not sure I want to spend $$$ to catch it.
