Hopefully this means we’ll see less of Jenas next year – but I doubt we could be so lucky.
Two thoughts on this one (and I think I stole the second one from a podcast; maybe Tim Vickery?):
1) Palacios has already said he eventually wants to play for Real Madrid, so this could be cover in case that becomes a sooner rather than later thing.
2) You’re not terribly deep at central/defensive midfielder; it’s good for the league, but if you’re planning on playing in the Champions League next year (which is more and more a possibility), you want to be a little bit deeper…which means bringing in some guys like Sandro.
All told, though, it’s a good signing (except for the fact that he’s Brazilian; Brazilians don’t have a terribly good track record in England).
Yeah both good points MH. I am afraid of another Lucas, but it’s worth a try. They’ll have to be careful to throw him in at the right time to help him succeed. And like I said, if this means that Jenas is eventually replaced, then great. Hell, I’d probably take O’Hara over Jenas at this point, he seems to be able to affect games more consistently, even in a terrible squad.
I agree with O’Hara over Jenas as well. And don’t forget, we already have one Brazilian that has settled in pretty well with the current squad!
I like 4-4-2′s decision to use the least flattering Zlatan picture possible. Coincidentally, it’s the one where he looks the most like Andy Samberg.
