What you missed while finding the worst possible way to spend that $150 you won at the casino…
- UEFA Champions League roundup (bold advance to the quarterfinals): Real Madrid 1-1 Olympique Lyonnais, Manchester United 4-0 AC Milan.
- CONCACAF Champions League roundup: Comunicaciones of Guatemala 1-1 Pachuca, Marathon 2-0 Pumas.
- Premier League roundup: Burnley 1-1 Stoke City.
- The Spanish media is really, really pissed off at Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini for getting knocked out.
- A Kaka advisor, meanwhile, has called Manuel Pellegrini a “coward” for subbing out Kaka for Raul. That’s cool and all, but he called him a coward on Twitter, which always has a weird “pot-kettle” vibe to it.
- Oh, and Pellegrini says he isn’t going to resign his post over that loss.
- The Italian press, meanwhile, is not happy at all about getting humiliated at Old Trafford (although, really, what did they expect?).
- Portsmouth have made 85 staff members redundant in an effort to slash overhead; not included among those 85 is chief executive Peter Storrie, who seems to be completely redundant now that there’s an administrator in charge of the whole thing.
- The start of the MLS season is in doubt after labor talks ended without an agreement yesterday.
- Sol Campbell is hoping for an England call up this summer. Seriously.
- Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is begging his players to try and not be complete embarassments when they play Lille in the Europa League today.

“I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!!!”
(gets me every time)
The Italians are whining about being embarrassed at Old Trafford? That’s funny, yesterday’s 4-0 looked nothing like the 7-1 Mandingo’ing United gave Roma a couple years ago.
I just think it’s funny that they’re surprised to have lost that one. They were pretty good at lying down for Rooney last time, I kind of figured this would be the result.
It shouldn’t be surprising at all. AC Milan looked horrible against Roma despite having possession for lengthy, lengthy periods of time and Ronaldinho running a clinic on the defense to throw in crosses.
AC Milan is disappointing to say the least. Even Roma, who mainly relies on counter attacks and a bunch of hopeful bounces is fairly lackluster. Even my team, Inter Milan, has had better days. Everyone is touting Balotelli like he’s the next God of Italian football, but the kid is basically a whiny asshole in my opinion. Italian football needs some guts.
“Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is begging his players to try and not be complete embarassments when they play Lille in the Europa League today.”
He should have said pretty please with a cherry on top.
