Wow, I had kind of excised the start to last year's campaign out of my mind. We definitely need another 2nd half run to consolidate what little we've really gained - 6 positions, but ONLY 3 points. Other thought - the EPL is slowly dividing into 2 separate leagues. One league has the money, at least temporarily, to stay in the top half of the table, and then there's the unwashed poor half who just hope to stay up, with the cut-off being between 10 and 11 (Sunderland-Ellis, and Stoke-who?). Pompey is probably the only one who seemingly doesn't fit, but whoever owns them today clearly is not putting any of whatever riches they have into the team...

That could be a blessing in disguise, really. The only problem is that there's no actual backup for him.

I'm surprised by that because of how well you've done in the Europa League, actually. Conventional wisdom says your squad's too small to compete in both the Premier League and in Europe, yet you've managed to do so.

What is absolutely shocking to me (and it shouldn't be) - Fulham are one point better than last year's pace right now. I didn't dare think that it might get better than last year's effort, but who knows? Enjoying the ride; that's all we can do.
