After last week’s more or less easy challenge- which attracted a lot more suckers entrants than usual- I thought I’d make things just a bit more difficult this week for those who newbies who thought they’d come back for another handful of low-hanging fruit. A few of these will be easy enough to find if you’re a shut in competent user of the Google, but a few others are going to take some real blind luck detective work.
- What club has never been relegated in a history that has spanned more than a century?
- What club has played in two leagues, in two different countries, and never been relegated in either one?
- Which English club has played an F.A. Cup “tie” in each of the “Home Countries?”
- What was the only non-English club to hold (jointly with an English club) the trophy that is now known as the “F.A. Community Shield?”
- How many different English clubs have won the Welsh Cup?
Enjoy the relatively easy questions this week- next week I’m going out of my way to make things difficult for you! However, for those of you who are up to the task, you will be introduced to an internet resource that you will want to move right to the top of your bookmarked sites. And, as an added extra bonus, it’s a site that won’t cause awkward questions from your girlfriend mother if she happens upon it while tidying up the basement your room.
Remember, don’t put your answer in the comment section, email it to avoidingthedrop@gmail.com
As always, the answer will be posted next Wednesday.
Good luck!
For questions 1 & 2, are you looking for just English/UK clubs?
I’ll accept any correct answers, regardless of country.
Well then, I’d like to change the answer I submitted to #2 to the Seattle Sounders.
My current answer sheet looks like this:
1)
2) Seattle Sounders
3)
4)
5)
Who am I to criticize, but #2 doesn’t show a great deal of creativity.
As one of the new guys, I will not be deterred.
Done, pretty much. Not an easy challenge, although knowing how to use the usual toolbox can result in some questions being easier than others.
Awaiting a verdict on my answer for #4 though.
And now I see the error of my ways. Time to send take #2!
