They COULD, but then the benefit to them (having him available while everyone else is at the Cup of Nations) might diminish a bit; I’d think that they’d have to buy him now for it to make sense.

Then again, the fact that they’re allowed to buy at all under the ban shows a remarkable lack of enforcement on FIFA’s part; they could probably do whatever they wanted and smooth it over with FIFA.

I believe they could sign him next month and loan him right back til the end of the season. Assuming he’s got a UEFA sanctioned contract, he should be legit for next season if he doesn’t want to go until Summer and he accepts being loaned back.

Could they sign Aguero next month but allow him to play the season out?

I mean, I know they could, but would that work under the ban?
