First of all, many thanks to Green Eggs & Fulham! In addition to being one of our best and most regular contributors in the comments section, he came up with the great idea for this week’s challenge.
Next, since a few of you wondered what the two hints were that I alluded to in the original post, they were: The “pipex.com” logo on top of Craven Cottage- a team sponsor. The other hint were the blue and yellow colors of the seating at La Bombonera- these are the same colors that Boca Juniors wear.
And finally, for all of those who were stumped by Cowdenbeath’s Central Park, yes, that is a race track surrounding the pitch. What kind of racing? Well, in addition to Scotland’s version of stock car racing, it also holds “speedway” races- the lean-y motorcycle racing where the bikes have really skinny tires, no brakes, etc. I think they used to show it on Wide World of Sports. Amazingly, Cowdenbeath are considering relocating to a new ground. So, I guess the point it, make sure you visit Central Park before it’s gone!
Now, the winners- and almost winners.
Winners: JBrice, Andrew B.
First Losers: Nick, jhawk90, & other Andrew.
I’m about 99% sure there won’t be a new challenge tomorrow- enjoy your Turkey.

Ha, you’ve just glommed on to one of my secret nerdy fetishes, namely, pushpinning footy stadiums on Google Earth.
I’m probably disqualified from this one, despite the fact I never know any of the answers to any of the others.
I’d say go for it, some of these are kinda hard.
I too like to google map stadiums and once spent an hour or two looking up all the stadiums in England I was shocked to find out how close Stamford Bridge and Craven Cottage were.
You can walk from one to the other in about an hour or so. There’s a triangle effect if you include Loftus Road, home of QPR. I love that part of London.
Very nice.
Got 3 of em already. And talk about throwing GE&F a freaking bone. Wow.
I’ve got two, but that was luck…I’m not 100% confident I’m going to get more than two or three more.
Everyone should get 1 & 5, and anyone who gets 6 deserves special commendation.
I was going to include East Fife F.C.’s Bayview Stadium, but Google made it look like the abandoned power plant next to the pitch has finally been razed. If you’d like to see it in all of its glory…

Yes, I’m the one who suggested this, and yes, Fuse was kind enough to throw me a bone in this contest – but I’ll need some time to dig through Google Maps to get this one right. Good job on this challenge!
Think I have 1,5,9 & 11 of the top of my head. Number 6, no idea at the moment, is that a race track with tires n all.
I have 1,6,9 & 11 stumped on the rest
I have 1, 4, & 9. This is the first challenge I’ve actually tried. I’m gonna be up all night.
Added 2, 5, & 10. Half way there.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been at a loss for answers on these (and have wanted to keep pushing on). I have three so far – you can guess which ones.
Is it pathetic that I found #6 fourth of all these stadiums?
Currently have 1, 2, 5, 6, and 11. Might try the rest again tomorrow.
Now I have 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, and 11. Should be able to get the rest during the lulls on Sunday afternoon.
DID IT!
This, of course, proves that I have an indomitable iron will.
And entirely too much leisure time. Call me, ladies!
Interesting note – It looks like Falkirk is training in the picture on Google Earth
The first two I got were #9 and #10; I’m missing the clue in #5, though.
Well, it’s a color picture…
I have all but 3, 4, 6, 8 and 11.
This fun…and aggravating!!
Seems most have 6 and 11 – throw me a frickin’ bone people!!!
okay, 3 was a d’oh – 4 left…
…and so was 4. 3 left and I’ll stop talking to myself now.
I lied – 1 left, #6 and I give up.
Thanks for the fun -
Dang, I knew there should have been one from Scotland in there. I must have overlooked Cowdenbeth.
kicking myself on Croke Park now.
