Last week’s challenge was a bit dark…and then the week’s events conspired to make it downright depressing and not a little uncomfortable. So, I’m going to lighten things up this week and give you a challenge that you can’t get wrong!
Your task is to put together a team of eleven* players who, based on their names (first and/or last), fit a theme that you have created. The only rule is that they must be current players. Here’s a few examples to give you an idea of what I mean:
If you wanted to field a team of players whose names sound like those of porn stars you might start with Fulham’s “Steed Malbranque” or Everton’s “Jack Rodwell.”
Or you could field a team in which every player’s last name was that of a country: “Jason Scotland” or “Stephen Ireland”- I’d even let you use “Peter Cech” even though it isn’t spelled correctly.
Again, there’s no right/wrong answer. I will choose the winner based on the creativity of the theme and how well the selected players fit it.
*If you can find more than eleven players that fit your theme, go ahead and include your bench players. Heck, have a manager too if you want to!
Remember, don’t put your answer in the comment section, email it to avoidingthedrop@gmail.com
As always, the answer will be posted next Wednesday.
Good luck!
