Yes, this is from a tie I own, from, you know, when I had a career.
Sometimes I get an idea for a challenge in my head and I just can’t let it go…so here I am asking you to find the players whose non-footballing second occupations are on the list below. There are only seven because I wanted to keep things as straight-forward as possible. I’ve done my best to exclude players who have had successful second careers after their footballing days are over, or players whose second job, frankly, cannot be taken seriously. For example, this list does not include, “David Beckham, model” or, “Eric Cantona, actor,” much less “Eric Cantona, philosopher.” These are, for the most part, serious jobs that players held during their careers either when they were just getting started, or perhaps because they did not make enough money as “professional” athletes. That being said, these are not players from the “olden days” when playing football was more likely to have been a person’s “second” job- everyone on the list played after 1980 and the one exception played until 1979. Also, the majority of these players are well known and top level players in their countries of origin- 4 of 7 were capped as full internationals.
