What you missed while celebrating Halloween a little early…
- Carling Cup results: Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool, Manchester City 5-1 Scunthorpe United, Chelsea 4-0 Bolton.
- West Ham defender Calum Davenport – who was stabbed in his home back in August – has been charged with assault over said incident.
- Phil Brown’s still the manager at Hull City, but his biggest ally – chairman Paul Duffen – has tendered his resignation.
- Robbie Keane says that the Spurs bench is better than Arsenal’s; Two Yellows’ dad hopes he’s right.
- Shockingly, Roman Pavlyuchenko wants to leave White Hart Lane; this may or may not be due to the fact that he pretty much never plays.
- Arsene Wenger used to be interested in Alberto Aquilani, but since his team can win without him he isn’t anymore. Or something.
- Meanwhile, Liverpool are thought to be pursuing Sampdoria’s Vladimir Koman; the Hungarian international would join Krisztian Nemeth and Andras Simon in the “Liverpool Players You Only See On FIFA” squad.
- A bunch of guys in Serie C got swine flu.
- Since their current crop of players isn’t working out, Real Madrid are planning on signing Steven Gerrard next year. Because, really, why not?
- Police are looking for a guy with slicked-back black hair who conned his way into the Israeli national basketball team and Chivas USA hotel rooms.
- Finally: Police are looking for a Manchester United fan who bit off part of a man’s ear at the Champions League final in Rome. I have no idea why they’re just starting to look now, and it’s possible I only am including this story so I can have a valid reason to create a special tag for it.
Mike Tyson is on our side, huh? Next blogger-football fan brawl will go much more smoothly for me if we hold it in a state he can travel to.
The Barnsley fans don’t know how easy they have it, really.
Ah….but the tag “Manchester United Fans Bite” is appropriate in SOOOO many ways!
I personally loved the double meaning myself.
