We’ve made it through yet another two week international break. The season doesn’t even seem like it’s been going on for very long, yet we’ve had two international breaks already. Seems a bit much, but hopefully we’ll have fewer interlull’s the rest of the way (I refuse to check the schedule to see if this is true for fear of getting angry that there is yet another one in a week or two.) This week I’m going to give you a little less fantasy info, but I will give you an I Know The Score recap, but first I want to go over some Interlull injuries.
Injuries:
These are always the best, your team’s player is perfectly fine and healthy and then two weeks later he’s picked up a strained hamstring and is out for a month, all because he played in a friendly against Djibouti. There are some rather key injuries that have happened this time around too, so lets take a look at who you need to bench this week, and possibly longer:
Steven Gerrard: The Liverpool captain is out for a short period of time, probably a week or two, but having the most expensive player in the game out certainly hurts.
Fernando Torres: Same thing here, he’ll probably be out a week or so, but he’ll be missing this week. If you’ve got Dirk Kuyt or Yossi Benayoun or were looking at picking one of them up, this is a perfect chance to do so.
Wayne Rooney: Rooney looks like he’s in the same boat as the other two. He’s not seriously hurt, but he’ll miss this week for sure. He’s been a little flat the last two matches, but hold onto him as I wouldn’t count on anyone else at United doing much scoring.
Darren Fletcher: Fletcher isn’t 100%, but all the reports aren’t saying if he’s playing or not. If you start him, make sure your bench is lined up properly as you don’t want to get stuck with a dud getting you 1 point if he doesn’t play.
Kolo Toure, Craig Bellamy, Joleon Lescott, Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Petrov: I’m just listing the whole lot of the City players together. Toure is the most likely to be out, and Bellamy is probably the most important to the most teams. If you’ve stuck with Lescott and his whopping 9 points, this is a good reason to dump him.
I Know The Score:
Yeah, yeah I promised a review a few weeks ago, better late than never though, right?
This being the first time doing IKTS, I wasn’t sure how it’d go, but I figured I’d do well. If you don’t remember, last season commenter JJF3 and I started making predictions in about December and continued through the year. We ended up doing pretty well, though had quite a few misses. We counted our records straight up wins and losses.
Well now we’ve got a new scoring system that hurts you for missing games, but rewards you the more correct scores you have. If you remember last season, the two of us didn’t get too much in terms of exact scores, and we got a good number of scores wrong. Well it looks like the two of us are doing more of the same this season and we’re both near the bottom of the table.
In fact, lets take a look at the table as it stands:

Congrats to Chrissy, who is killing everyone else thus far. After that though it seems to be pretty evenly matched, especially since Banzai FC took the incredible jump from 12th to 4th with his impressive score of 115 the prior week. It seems a lot of people had a tough time with the week. Nobody had a worse time of it than ATD’s own Two Yellows who scored a -55, though since misery loves company, Bluesfan decided to join him in the red with a -50.
IKTS is definitely harder than it looked at the start, especially with the negative scoring, I’ll be sure to check back in a few weeks to see if anyone has been able to knock Chrissy off her pedestal, but my guess is no.
Team of The Week

Gerrard is gone for Fabregas, perhaps a bit of a rash move, but Gerrard is hurt and Fabregas has been excellent and should probably continue to, so he’s now the man in the midfield. Drogba is still holding onto the captain’s armband, he’s been on fire and should continue to be so.
As always feel free to leave your questions in the comments and good luck this week!
Thanks for bringing up my terrible I Know the Score…errr…score. You’re such a pal. BUT look who’s still sitting a spot above you, even after a 50 point loss. Holla! :p
I guess it’s a good thing I switched Rooney out for Drogba this week. Also, I didn’t realize that when you play your wildcard you can make unlimited transfers that week…so I ended up making 4.
Out: Bosingwa, Deuce, Rooney, Zamora
In: Dunne, Milner, Drogba, Bent
I’m hoping that doesn’t bite me in the ass in the long run, but they all seem pretty solid.
Club football tomorrow!! And Chelsea is on in HD!! I’m going to be one happy lady tomorrow morning.
WOAH wait what? The wildcard gives you UNLIMITED transfers???? DAMNIT I only used 1 extra!
You can make more after the fact. I did my first three yesterday, and when I went in and looked it at it today it said I had unlimited transfers until the next deadline, which I think is…tomorrow. I’d go check your team and see if you can tinker with it some more.
Well I would….if I hadn’t already used my wildcard. That is rather nice that it’s like a big reset button.
Damn that sucks. I thought you meant you used it this week. Oh well. Yeah it’s pretty awesome. Although it would have better if I had actually started Dunne today, since he freakin’ scored.
