The US Soccer Federation is now officially reporting that Charlie Davies was involved in this accident that happened last night in Northern Virginia involving two others and claiming the life of one of the other passengers in the car. The accident occurred around 3:15 am.
Grant Wahl is reporting that Charlie is in surgery and that his injuries are non life threatening.
Our thoughts are with Charlie and his hopeful speedy recovery.

http://www.ussoccer.com has an update this morning which is encouraging in terms of his recovery and living a normal life. Soccer-wise, the the words tibia, femur, titanium rod and “6-12 months of intensive rehabilitation” (I’m paraphrasing) are not encouraging.
Man, I just don’t want to even think about this story anymore.
