What you missed while making the $6 million dollar man for only £150,000…
- The FA is treating the two Emmanuel Adebayor incidents – a stamp on Robin van Persie and inciting the Arsenal fans after a goal celebration – as two separate investigations. Replay appears to show Adebayor trying to shove his cleats into van Persie’s skull, and the Greater Manchester police blame Adebayor’s conduct for events that led to a steward being knocked unconscious. Adebayor on the match: “I don’t know what I have done wrong.”
- Liverpool have announced an £80 million sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered bank; the deal will start in June of 2010 and run through the 2013-2014 season.
- In spite of their recent loss to a Big Four side, Harry Redknapp still feels that Spurs could qualify for the Champions League (I don’t necessarily disagree, but the timing of the statement seems odd).
- Zlatan Ibrahimović apparently had a really good game after the GolTV feed cut out.
- Good news for Sunderland fans: Sunderland beat Hull City 4-1. Bad news for fantasy fans: none of the goals were scored by Kenwyne Jones.
- David Silva may be going to…AC Milan?
- Columbus beat Houston 1-0 on a stoppage time penalty.
- Diego will probably miss Juve’s opening Champions League match against Bordeaux.
- Park Ji-Sung will be a Red Devil until 2012.
- Portugal’s Sporting Braga have yet to lose a match this season.
