Avoiding the Drop

We’ve been living on the draws around here lately. The first time out, draws were rarely predicted; now, they’re the staple of most picks. In a way, the logical end result to a league that’s strived to even out competition advantages deserves what it gets: a bunch of teams that, on any given weekend, seem to all struggle to beat each other.

Still, this season seemed to take it to new heights. Several weekends have ended with more draws than winning teams, and some of the folks in our fine pick’em have gone the pragmatic route of just picking all draws. As a strategy, that’s actually worked for three weeks now.

Until this week.

That’s right, folks: there were no draws in the MLS this weekend. None. Every single game had a winner. Just when we thought we’d figured the league out, it goes and does this to us.
