Official FuseProject MLS Power Rankings: Week Five
1. Chivas U.S.A.: Best record, second best goal differential, hard to argue this one.
2. Seattle Sounders F.C.: A tough loss, but not enough to stop their momentum.
3. Chicago Fire S.C.: Consistency and no losses are their own reward.
4. New England Revolution: Injuries galore and a game in hand- a top three team?
5. Colorado Rapids: It’s starting to look like they might be for real this season.
6. Real Salt Lake: Win the game in hand and their a top five side.
7. K.C. Wizards: One more match than RSL and the same number of points
8. Toronto F.C.: Their not going to win MLS Cup, but they are MUCH improved.
9. D.C. United: Once again, “prove me wrong, children, prove me wrong.”
10. San Jose Earthquakes: More consistency and they’ll jump right up the ladder.
11. Columbus Crew: Having played five matches they should probably be lower.
12. Houston Dynamo: “They’ll need a few games to get it together…” Indeed.
13. L.A. Galaxy: Berhalter won’t help much if he’s on red card suspension!
14. N.Y. Red Bulls: At least L.A. can score goals.
15. F.C. Dallas: Please win a match so I can have N.Y. or L.A. in this spot next week!
What do you have against NY?
I must protest!
Dear NY Kid,
Let me tell you a story about what I have against NY…
I’m a Revs fan.
The End.
The Crew analysis is on-point. I would have them at the bottom, taking into consideration pre-season expectations.
Going to the DC United v. Revs match tonight. Revs are still dealing with some injuries- Alston, Castro, Badilla, and Twellman are all definitely out. Hopefully they can get it done tonight. Let’s go Revs!!
The way I’m looking at it is that the Revs have had just as many players out in their first three matches and managed to get good results and I don’t see tonight being any different. And D.C. looks a little shaky as well.
