If you were hoping to see more of Nicholas Bendtner, you’re in luck: per manager Arsene Wenger, Theo Walcott’s knee locked when walking back from training yesterday. Scans today will determine the extent of the injury, but he’s definitely out for this weekend and next week’s England U-21 matches against France and Norway.
Arsenal’s season seems to have been plagued by these kinds of injuries. While they only have five players injured at the moment, the five that are out are fairly significant: Almunia, Fabregas, Adebayor, and Rosicky all join Walcott on the training table.
The good news for Walcott is that the injury to his shoulder appears to be fully healed. Arsenal face off against Newcastle this week.
After 0ver 18 years of walking practice, you would think Walcott could avoid this type of problem.
I wonder if Ladbrokes takes any action on the “knee locking up while walking?” I’d take the Pompey beanpole…
