This is our new weekly news and link spot, we’ll have things that aren’t quite interesting enough to give a whole story to and links to stories that we found interesting. Got something you think we might be interested in? email it to us at avoidingthedrop@gmail.com
The WPS rolled out ther uniforms. Pregame Skorts? Really. They also came up with some pretty lame template jerseys. Chicago’s look nice though. Unprofessional Foul ranked em, so you don’t have to.
Um, Cesc, its been over for a while, its almost over for Liverpool. I really hope this was one of those where they pulled an old quote or coerced him into saying it.
More new shirt talk, this time about Philladelphia’s MLS squad. The shirt has been dismissed as fake, which is good since it looks like an Argentina shirt with yellow and navy stripes. Though I do like the colors and the crest.
Yesterday, the bookies stopped taking bets on Rafa’s departure, and now today he says he won’t quit. Something tells me he wouldn’t be saying the same thing had they lost.
That dumb 6+5 rule Sepp Blatter wants? You hadn’t heard much about it for a while and thought it might be gone? Nope its still out there. Meanwhile Goal.com has a piece on the biggest losers should it go through, I think you all know what club they mention in there.
I wasn’t going to link to this one because its annoying and meaningless, but its everywhere so I might as well. Salomon Kalou wants to join Arsenal. Why does every wantaway player want to join Arsenal? Do they get cool perks that other squads don’t get or something?
Raul is now the latest player linked to MLS. Who wouldn’t want to come to America and make tons of money after your prime?
Bruce Arena’s begun to trim the fat at the Galaxy. Let me know when this one’s move is finally complete.
…and finally, its so nice we had to show it twice. Juninho’s goal from Tuesday
Oh and how could I forget this one? Deadspin posts once in a blue moon about soccer, so you gotta link em when you can. Boro tells its fans to be quiet. The strategy should be the exact opposite.
WPS: Chicago, yes. All others, f-a-i-l.
And can we start numbering the all of the Juninhos playing professional football? There are either DOZENS of them or that guy who used to play at Middlesborough has been playing for a LONG time.
Yeah, I hate the template look, its not that hard to come up with shirts for each team that have a unique look. Plus you’ll sell more shirts when they look good. I’d wear a mens version of the Chigago one.
According to wikipedia, there are 12 Juninho’s, enough to play a full match against my squad of Traore’s. The one from Boro is in Sydney and 36, Lyon’s is 34 but hes been playing professionally for 2 years longer.
